Treacle Marinated Sirloin Steak

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 OXO beef cube
  • 1 tbsp treacle
  • 2 minced garlic cloves
  • 1 tbsp thyme leaves
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 x 227g sirloin steaks

(Serves 2)

 

Method

  1. In a bowl whisk the ingredients together.
  2. Add the steaks to marinade.
  3. Leave at room temperature for 30 minutes.
  4. Heat a heavy based frying pan over high heat for 2-3 minutes until smoking.
  5. Place steaks in the dry pan and cook over a high heat for 1 minute each side. Reduce heat to medium and continue to cook for a further 30 seconds - 1 minute each side (rare), 1-3 minutes each side (medium) or 4-7 minutes each side (well done).
  6. Allow steak to rest for 3 minutes before serving.
